Gateway Direct—Tech Ops

Crewmembers can depart their current position and pursue a defined training and experience-building path by studying with our partners to become a JetBlue maintenance technician.

Our most direct route to maintenance technician.

Crewmembers interested in becoming technicians will attend school to earn an airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificate and will also spend time building experience in the JetBlue apprentice program before joining JetBlue as aircraft Maintenance Technicians. The defined pathway to a position as a Maintenance Technician at JetBlue includes a partnership with Aviator College in Kissimmee, Florida, for training and education, completion of an A&P certificate, then onboarding and training at JetBlue to support the transition to maintenance technician. The entire program length is ~18 months. As long as all requirements are met, those who successfully complete the program will then transition into a full-time Maintenance Technician role at JetBlue.
